Upgrading from BillingTracker Multi-User Server Version 1.x to Version 2.x


To upgrade, you will need to replace three files:

1. BillingTrackerMultiUserServer.exe - found in the directory where you installed the BillingTracker Multi-User Server

2. btserver.ini - found in the directory where you installed the BillingTracker Multi-User Server

3. BillingTracker.exe - found in the directory where you installed BillingTracker Pro. You will need to replace this file in EVERY computer that is running BillingTracker Pro Multi-User. This procedure will upgrade your version of BillingTracker Pro to at least 3.6.1. Any earlier version will not work with version 2 of the Server.


Procedure:
1. Download the upgrade file for the BillingTracker Multi-User Server.

2. Download the upgrade file for BillingTracker Pro.

3. Unzip both files.

4. If you haven't done so already, close BillingTracker Pro Multi-User on all computers.

5. Copy/paste BillingTrackerMultiUserServer.exe into the directory where the BillingTracker Multi-User Server is installed. This will replace the existing EXE file. Most users find this directory in c:\program files\BillingTracker Multi-User Server.

6. Delete the btserver.ini file from that same directory. This will erase some of the settings of your users (e.g. permission levels, passwords, who is enabled/disabled). You will have to recreate these settings after the upgrade is complete.

7. Copy/paste BillingTracker.exe into the directory where BillingTracker Pro 3 is installed on each user's computer. This will replace the existing EXE file. Most users find this directory in c:\program files\BillingTracker Pro 3.

8. Launch the BillingTracker Multi-User Server. You may need to enter your unlock code. You will need to recreate the permission levels and passwords of each user.

9. Launch BillingTracker Pro on each user's machine.

10. You are done. Congratulations!
